The Pound to Dollar (GBP/USD) exchange rate edged lower on Wednesday as renewed tensions in the Middle East boosted demand for the safe-haven US Dollar. At the time of writing, GBP/USD was trading at $1.3350, having rebounded from an earlier low of $1.3322 but remaining modestly lower on the day.
The Pound to New Zealand Dollar (GBP/NZD) exchange rate fell sharply on Wednesday after the Reserve Bank of New Zealand delivered a widely anticipated interest rate hike and maintained a hawkish policy outlook. At the time of writing, GBP/NZD was trading at NZ$2.3424, down around 0.4% on the day.
